About Susanne

Hi, I’m Susanne.

I’m a personal stylist, and I believe great style should feel effortless and personal, and bring out your most confident self. Not a costume. Not a trend report. You, expressed properly.

My philosophy

Clothing is a person’s first language

What you wear communicates authority, clarity, confidence, and intent long before you say a word.

Here’s the part most people miss: your wardrobe is always sending signals. Always. Whether you chose those signals consciously or they arrived by default (the blazer you bought for a job you no longer have, the “fine, whatever” jeans), the message still goes out.

My work is aligning your inner identity with your outer expression, so the person people meet is the person you actually are now. In practice, that alignment happens in three moves.

  1. Recognize

We name what no longer represents you: the role you left, the size from another chapter, the “someday” pieces holding your hangers hostage. You can’t build forward until you can see clearly.

  2. Elevate

We raise the energy of what you wear through strategic choices in color, texture, and silhouette: small, deliberate shifts that read as polish, never as effort.

  3. Rebuild

We rebuild a wardrobe that reinforces your evolution instead of anchoring you in the past, so your closet keeps up with you, not the other way around.

How I work

Thoughtful, collaborative, and honestly? Fun.

A few things you can count on in every engagement, whether we spend two hours in your closet or a season texting outfit checks.

  • Together, always

This is a collaboration, not a verdict. Every keep-or-donate call is made side by side, and “it makes me happy” is a perfectly valid reason to keep something. My job is clearing the noise, not replacing your taste with mine.

  • Ease and intention

The goal is always the same: you, polished without ever feeling overdone. If an outfit takes a committee to assemble, it hasn’t earned a place in your rotation.

  • Humor, welcome and encouraged

Closets are emotional places, and some of what we find in them is genuinely funny. We will laugh (kindly, and usually at the dress that still has its tags from three years ago).

  • Every body, every budget

All sizes, all ages, all aesthetics. I’m as happy sourcing from Amazon as from a boutique, and your clothing budget is yours: you set it, I respect it.

  • Chicago, and everywhere

In-closet sessions run across the city from my Lincoln Park home base, and virtual styling works beautifully over video and text, wherever you happen to be.

The signature mirror

Yes, it’s that mirror

If you found me on Instagram, you know the setting: the green wall, the gold arch. It’s where every outfit formula I share gets its screen test.

These days, the mirror’s favorite job is pointing at your wins too: the closet that finally makes sense, the outfit you built in four minutes, the donation pile leaving the building.

And off camera? I’m the person who will happily referee your keep-or-donate pile, cheer out loud when the “maybe” stack shrinks, and chase the perfect scarf across the internet like it owes me money. Closets are my happy place. I’d love to visit yours.
